OUR VALUES - JEDI MANIFESTO
All those who are part of JEDI adhere to the following principles:
1.
The Joint European Disruptive Initiative is a common good, non profit organisation powered by civil society and the deeptech & science ecosystems - whose purpose is to bring Europe and democracies to a leadership position in innovation and technology.
2.
JEDI’s mission is to push the frontiers of innovation, to invent the Next Big Thing, and to provide European economies & societies with a decisive competitive advantage that will ensure prosperity, sustainability and democratic resilience. To accomplish its mission, JEDI launches Technology GrandChallenges focused on disruptive innovations.
3.
We believe in deep humanistic and democratic values, and we are committed to ensure that these values are served by technology.

We consider that technology is at the core of our societies, of geopolitics, of the future of democratic systems and we are, therefore, passionate about emerging technologies and their capabilities to have a positive, Technology for Good impact on the world.
5.
We focus on 5 major societal missions (close to the UN Sustainable Development Goals): environment and climate change, healthcare, human-centric digital, education and new frontiers (oceans & space) and on those technologies that can have a gamechanging impact on these issues.

We are convinced that complex and exponential challenges of our times will only be solved if we have the strategic foresight and creativity to act now for the future, an interdisciplinary approach combining all hard and social sciences, and the collective goodwill and passion to craft the future we want.

We believe that civil society has the boldness and agility to ensure Europe and democracies remain innovation leaders in the 21st technological century. We call upon Governments and public institutions to fully and practically support it, as we will need to work hand in hand to achieve this goal.

We expect all those involved in JEDI to strongly support its mission in their professional and personal capabilities, to contribute to technology forecasting, to facilitate cooperation with strategic partners, experts & public institutions, and to always reference JEDI in their public profiles and appearances.
